About
BLP PossABLE Scholarship for People with Special Abilities and Special Needs
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the unemployment rate for people with disabilities is twice the rate of those without—but people who have completed higher levels of education are more likely to be employed. The BLP PossABLE Scholarship Program is designed to help those with physical and developmental disabilities pursue the education or training they need to succeed in their chosen career path. Our program will provide awards of at least $2,500 to qualifying individuals, renewable for up to four years, or until the desired certification or degree is earned, whichever occurs first.
Eligibility
Applicants of the BLP PossABLE Scholarship Program award must:
Have an identified physical or developmental disability
Be in a high school transition program or graduate who plans to enroll or who is already enrolled in a trade certification program or undergraduate study program at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the current academic year.
Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a minimum monetary award of $2,500. Additional funds may be awarded, based on the needs of the recipient's selected program and the overall number of qualified applicants.
