The Beautiful Lives Project, Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter, hosted an event with our dedicated partner, the Texas Legends basketball team to close summer out with a splash for the Hipsters of My Possibilities.
My Possibilities began as the vision of three mothers looking for a better future for their children and has turned into the first-of-its-kind continuing education program for adults with cognitive disabilities in Collin County. In January 2018, they merged with LaunchAbility, one of the only programs in North Texas that focuses on inclusive employment for all adults, including specialized expertise with cognitive disabilities such as Autism. This organizational integration allows My Possibilities to serve more efficiently and effectively, creating a broader continuum of services ranging from education and independent living skills to employment.
My Possibilities is currently constructing their new campus and independent living community. The campus serves as an educational environment, modeled after a college campus, designed specifically for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Presently, My Possibilities serves more than 400 HIPsters a week. With the completion of phase one, buildings one and two of the new campus, My Possibilities will serve more than 700 HIPsters.
